Candy AI review: our verdict

Candy AI is worth considering if you want an AI companion platform that combines character creation, text conversations and optional generated media. Its clearest selling point is the separation between unlimited paid chat and a monthly allowance for extras. Its biggest purchasing trap is reading a low monthly equivalent as the amount you will pay today.

Our recommendation is to use the small free allowance first and judge the writing before choosing a term. A year is cheaper per month, but it is a larger commitment than the introductory monthly offer. If you mainly want pictures, voice or video, budget for the token system as carefully as the subscription. We have not verified conversation quality, image consistency or long-term memory through a paid test, so this review does not assign a numerical performance rating.

What is Candy AI?

Candy.ai is an adult AI girlfriend app and companion service from EverAI Limited. It lets users select or create fictional characters and interact through text and supported media features. The company’s terms describe those interactions as entertainment, not exchanges with a real human. The service is for adults aged 18 or the applicable age of majority, as stated in its privacy notice.

The website is accessible in a browser. Its subscription page also explains how to add it to a phone’s home screen. That is a useful convenience, but it is different from evidence of an independently verified App Store or Google Play listing. Start from the official website when checking access and payment options.

Key features: chat, customization and media

The platform offers a character builder and several ways to interact with the resulting AI. Candy’s documentation describes customization preferences such as appearance, personality, voice and relationship type. These settings give you a way to define a character; they do not prove that every generated reply or image will follow your instructions perfectly.

• Text conversations: Standard paid access includes unlimited chatting. The help centre says regular chat remains available when the monthly token balance runs out.
• Character customization: You can create a custom AI rather than rely only on the existing roster. Check whether another creation will use tokens before confirming it.
• Images and video: These are separate capabilities with token costs. The token guide describes converting an eligible image generated in chat into a video.
• Voice features: Voice messages and calls also appear in the token guide. Availability and the amount charged should be checked in the interface for the feature you intend to use.

Candy AI pricing: the first charge and the renewal

The public subscription page displayed these USD offers during our October 14 check. Promotions and currencies can vary; use the amount and renewal terms shown in your own checkout.

The three-month and annual totals above are the displayed monthly equivalents multiplied by their billing terms. They are not monthly instalment offers. The page states that plans renew automatically and that local taxes may apply.

For a practical comparison, the monthly introduction followed by eleven $13.99 renewals totals $163.88 over twelve months, before taxes or extra tokens, assuming those rates stay unchanged. The advertised annual equivalent totals $47.88. That difference rewards commitment; it does not tell you whether you will still use the service in six months. Someone who wants only one month should compare the immediate $9.99 charge with the full longer-term payment, rather than compare $9.99 with $3.99.

What do the free tier and Premium actually include?

The free-user help page lists five messages across all characters, one custom character and one generated image. This is a brief sample, not an ongoing free conversation allowance. Five exchanges can help you spot an unsuitable tone, but they cannot establish how well a companion remembers a long story.

According to the paid-user guide, Standard Premium provides unlimited text chat and 100 tokens per month. An annual subscriber receives the allowance monthly on their subscription day; paying for a year does not mean receiving all twelve monthly allocations immediately.

For media-heavy use, the useful question is how much one action consumes. We did not verify live token prices for each generator or voice feature, so we cannot responsibly translate 100 tokens into a fixed number of images, videos or call minutes. Before buying, inspect the cost shown beside the action you expect to repeat most. Keep a separate limit for top-ups; unlimited messaging is not unlimited media.

Premium Plus is a separate tier

The current Premium Plus guide lists 330 monthly tokens, 20 memory slots, user personas and five cloned chats. It also describes a 10% token top-up bonus for quarterly and annual plans. We did not obtain a verified public Plus price. Do not assume that the Standard prices above buy those additional features; compare the actual upgrade total offered to your account.

Memory and roleplay: what remains untested

Character settings, saved memory and conversation quality are related, but they are not interchangeable. A detailed personality profile does not by itself establish reliable recall across sessions. Candy’s chat-reset guidance says there is currently no separate way to clear the history while fully preserving long-term conversation memory. Detailed memory is generally associated with the active thread.

If continuity matters to your roleplay, avoid resetting an established conversation merely to tidy the screen. In your own evaluation, introduce an ordinary fictional detail, return to it later and see whether the character recalls it without prompting. Also check whether you can correct a wrong assumption and whether the next replies respect that correction. These are suggested checks, not results we have obtained. Privacy: read beyond the marketing

Candy’s privacy policy says that third-party language model providers or hosting services may receive chatbot message content. It also describes de-identified or anonymized interactions being used for research, model development and quality assurance. This review therefore does not describe the service as a private, locally running chatbot or independently verified end-to-end encrypted messenger.

For privacy-sensitive users, that processing model is a material part of the decision. Use fictional details and avoid sending information you would not want processed by a hosted service. The terms also allow authorized review of flagged content for moderation. Adult or NSFW positioning does not mean the platform has no rules, no service-provider access or no content review.

Cancellation and refunds are different actions

The cancellation instructions direct users to My Profile, then Settings and the subscription’s Unsubscribe option. Complete any confirmation prompts and keep the cancellation confirmation. Removing a browser shortcut is not a substitute for cancelling a recurring plan.

A help article updated October 13, 2026 explicitly separates cancellation from refunds. Cancelling stops future renewals while paid access continues through the billing period. A refund request must be submitted separately; the standard eligibility described there includes a 24-hour request window, no more than 20 tokens used and a direct card subscription purchase.

Those general conditions are not the complete policy for every location. Section 10.4.3 of the terms separately describes EU/UK withdrawal rights for an initial purchase. Check the applicable section rather than treating the help-centre summary as universal. The terms also say remaining tokens become unusable when the paid subscription period ends.

The most plausible fit is an adult who wants one place for a customizable fictional companion and occasional media, and is comfortable with hosted data processing. A text-first user can evaluate the writing without treating every optional feature as essential. A frequent media user needs the token cost of their preferred actions before deciding whether the headline price represents good value.
