Compare AI girlfriend subscriptions, annual payments and creative credits with a practical first-month budget, current official price examples and links to our individual reviews.

An AI girlfriend can cost nothing for limited introductory access, a recurring subscription for regular conversation, and additional credits for selected creative features. The most useful budget is the amount you will actually pay during your first month and at renewal. A low advertised monthly equivalent can require a full year of payment today.

This guide explains how much an AI girlfriend costs using Candy AI, OurDream, Secrets AI and GirlfriendGPT as practical examples. They offer different ways to explore fictional characters, conversation and creative tools. We focus on understanding the bill and choosing a plan that fits your use, rather than naming a cheapest overall winner.

How much does an AI girlfriend cost each month?

In the public offers checked for this guide, Candy displayed a $9.99 introductory month followed by $13.99 renewals; OurDream and Secrets Premium each listed US$19.99 monthly. Those are subscription examples, not a ceiling on spending. Additional image generation, video or voice use can require credits, and different chat models may have different charges.

Separate three numbers before comparing AI girlfriend pricing: the payment due now, the recurring payment, and your optional spending allowance. A service can suit a modest conversation budget while also offering a much larger creative budget. Neither choice tells you how well its characters will suit your taste.

AI girlfriend subscription prices: what the advertised number means

The table distinguishes public offers from an account-specific checkout. Candy showed a dollar symbol in our latest check; confirm its billing currency and tax treatment in your checkout. OurDream explicitly quotes USD, and Secrets labels its store prices USD. We have not converted currencies or purchased any of these plans.

Price sources: Candy’s plan page, OurDream’s standard billing guide and the Secrets subscription store. We leave GirlfriendGPT’s price unquoted because its current subscription offer was not publicly verifiable in this check. Its official terms describe tier-dependent monthly message credits that reset without carrying forward.

Subscriptions, tokens and credits pay for different things

A subscription usually answers an access question: which features or conversation modes can you use? Credits answer a usage question: how much can you do with a particular metered feature? Read both parts. “Unlimited chat” does not automatically mean unlimited generated images, voice calls or video.

Candy’s paid-user guide pairs unlimited chatting with 100 monthly tokens, including on annual plans. OurDream’s feature-cost guide distinguishes ordinary subscriber messages at zero coins from Genius and Lively Genius responses at one coin each. These are useful structures for different routines; choose the actual mode before projecting your monthly cost.

Tokens, Dreamcoins and Moments are platform-specific balances. A balance of 8,000 on one service is not automatically more valuable than 100 on another. To compare fairly, write down the number of actions, the charge per action and any subscription requirement. Do not treat a consumer credit balance as a technical count of language-model tokens.

Do unused credits roll over?

Check the type of balance, not just its size. The Secrets Moments guide says monthly subscription grants reset, while purchased top-up Moments remain. It also documents an exception for unused grants when upgrading mid-cycle from a monthly plan. That makes buying extra credits a different decision from simply using the allowance included with your membership.

For any provider, record the next grant date, what happens to unused units, and whether access to the feature ends when the subscription ends. A yearly payment does not imply that every month’s allowance becomes available immediately.

Build a realistic 30-day AI companion budget

Start with your intended routine. A conversation-focused user should first check message limits and the models included. Someone who creates character images regularly should also estimate generation attempts. A voice-focused user needs a per-minute or per-message rate. These are different budgets, even inside the same app.

  1. Record the fixed charge. Write the amount due today, including the billing period. Keep the next renewal amount beside it.
  2. List the features you expect to use. Separate chat, images, voice and video. Record the selected model or quality setting where it affects price.
  3. Subtract the included allowance. Calculate any remaining credit requirement inside that platform only.
  4. Price the actual top-up pack. You may need to buy a pack larger than the shortfall. Budget the checkout charge, not just a theoretical per-credit fraction.
  5. Set an optional-spending limit. Decide how much extra use is comfortable before you begin, and review it after your first week.

A worked example of subscription plus top-up spending

Here is a hypothetical platform, not a quote from any named service. Suppose a monthly membership costs $20 and includes 600 credits. Your planned activity uses 850 credits. The shortfall is 250, but the smallest available top-up is 500 credits for $10. Your cash outlay is $30 before applicable taxes or payment fees, with 250 purchased credits left after the planned activity.

This explains why “I only need a few extra credits” can still produce a whole-pack purchase. It also shows why leftover credits need a separate rollover check. Use the actual prices and allowances shown in your chosen app to repeat the calculation.

A second useful number is the cost per result you keep. If a fictional image project needs four paid attempts to get a suitable result, count all four attempts. The cheapest generation request is not necessarily the cheapest completed project. This is a budgeting method, not a measured quality comparison between these services.

Monthly vs annual plans: compare commitment as well as savings

Annual billing can make sense when you already enjoy a service and expect to keep using it. Monthly billing gives you a shorter initial commitment while you learn which features matter. Compare the total for your expected period of use, not just the largest discount badge.

For example, OurDream’s documented US$19.99 monthly plan totals US$59.97 for three monthly payments before extras. Its annual plan costs US$119.88 upfront. The annual monthly equivalent is lower, but someone using the service for only three months would commit more cash to the year. This is a duration calculation, not a recommendation against either plan.

For introductory offers, calculate later months at the renewal price. For a $9.99 initial month followed by two $13.99 renewals, the displayed-price subtotal is $37.97, not $29.97. Confirm that the offer and currency apply to your account before relying on that number.

Free vs paid AI girlfriend apps: what does a free tier tell you?

A free tier is useful for learning the interface and seeing whether you like the available characters. It may not provide enough messages to judge a long-running conversation or enough creative credits to evaluate every tool. Check whether an allowance is a one-time introduction or resets daily or monthly.

A paid plan is easier to evaluate when you can name the feature you want to unlock. Examples include sustained conversation, a particular voice option or more control over creative output. Paying more is useful only when the added capability is something you will actually use. Free and premium access serve different stages of choosing an AI companion.

Choose an AI companion around the experience you want

Candy AI: explore its combination of unlimited subscriber chat and a monthly creative allowance if you want conversation with optional media tools. Our Candy AI review explains the product and its billing checks.

OurDream: explore its model and creative options if you prefer to plan usage around a documented coin system. Our OurDream review introduces the service; our Candy AI and OurDream comparison looks more closely at those two choices.

Secrets AI: explore its messaging and media combination if a recurring Moments allowance fits your routine. Our Secrets AI review is the starting point for the platform, while the official store gives the current offer.

GirlfriendGPT: explore its character-based conversation service and check the current tier’s message credits before selecting a plan. Our GirlfriendGPT review covers the platform; verify the offer shown in your account for current pricing.

Each is a valid candidate for different preferences. Price tables cannot establish conversational quality, long-term recall or whether you will enjoy a character. Use a small, consistent evaluation before making a long commitment.

AI girlfriend cost: frequently asked questions

Is a free trial the same as unlimited free chat?

No. A free trial can end after a fixed period or a small message allowance. A continuing free tier can still have message caps. Record the reset rule before using a virtual girlfriend app regularly; “free to start” does not specify the cost of daily use.

Does a premium plan include custom characters and roleplay?

Check access and usage separately. Character customization may be available while generating a new portrait costs credits or tokens. For roleplay, check the chosen model’s message allowance and continuity with one simple fictional prompt. A premium label alone does not establish either unlimited messages in every mode or reliable long-term recall.

Do voice messages, images and video cost extra?

They may use an included allowance, a separate top-up, or both. Image and video generation can also change price with the model, duration or resolution. Estimate your monthly usage using the actual controls you intend to select, rather than a headline balance.

Does NSFW access mean every request is included?

No. On adult-oriented AI companion apps, content access, usage charges and permitted-content rules are separate questions. Read the current terms of service for each feature. A description such as “uncensored” is not a billing promise and does not establish that every request is allowed.

Five checks before subscribing

  • Confirm the full charge today, currency and any taxes displayed.
  • Record the renewal date, renewal amount and billing period.
  • Check which messages and creative features are included or metered.
  • Find the cancellation route and save confirmation if you later cancel.
  • Check the refund policy separately; stopping renewal and refunding an existing payment are different actions.
